Your health information and HIPAA
Health information you share with us as a patient is protected health information under HIPAA. Our Notice of Privacy Practices, provided during intake, describes in detail how that information may be used and disclosed and the rights you have.
Email and text reminders never include clinical details. Clinical messages stay inside the secure patient portal.
When we share information
We share information only when it is needed for your care (for example, with your pharmacy or lab), when you ask us to, or when the law requires it.
Service providers who help us run the clinic, such as our secure telehealth platform, are required to protect your information too.
How we protect your information
We use encryption for information in transit and at rest, limit access to the minimum necessary, and review who has access on a regular basis.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see the information we have about you, ask us to correct it, and ask for a copy of your records.
You can unsubscribe from reminder and update emails at any time. Doing so never affects your care.
